PBCA Spring Meeting

Hello PBCA Members,
I am so excited to announce that PBCA will be holding our Spring Meeting on March 23rd at JCJC in Ellisville, MS. Registration will begin at 8:00AM and sessions will start promptly at 8:30AM. CEUs will be free to all MCA members present, provided that you complete the necessary paperwork on-site before you leave. PBCA staff will be available to assist you in renewing your membership or joining MCA on-site. Lunch will be sponsored for all attendees by JCJC at no cost to you.
At our Fall Meeting, you had the opportunity to vote on the theme for this meeting. You decided that the main theme of our Spring Meeting would be crisis counseling; however, creativity in counseling and ethics were very close 2nd and 3rd winners. Because of this, we decided to include these topics as sub-themes under our main topic of crisis counseling. The sessions for our meeting are as follows.
8:30-10:30 - "Ethical Practices in Crisis Counseling and Intervention" - Dr. Juawice McCormick, Ph.D, LPC, LPC-S, NCC, NCSC, Program Coordinator and Assistant Professor of School Counseling at Southern Miss and Chair of MS LPC Board
(This session will qualify as 2 hours of ethics for NBCC)
12:30 - 2:00 - "Strategies for Identifying Suicidal Risk and Taking Appropriate Next Steps" - Michael McLendon, M.Div, M.Ed, Outreach Coordinator at the Laurel Outreach Center of Pine Grove and Emily Born, Director of Outreach Services at Pine Grove
2:15-3:45 - "Creative Techniques for Working with Teens Who Self-harm" - Holly Reeves, Ed.S, LPC, Contracted Behavior Specialist, Past President of the Gulf Coast Counseling Association
We would love to have you join us in March at our Spring Meeting! Please complete this registration form at the link below to reserve your spot. Registration will close February 23rd.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to let us know how we can help. I look forward to seeing you all soon at MCA Day at the Capitol.
Thank you!
